• Performed hands-on testing in an isolated virtualized lab environment (VMs) to validate firewall configurations before deployment.

CIS Critical Security Controls (CIS-CSAT) Assessment

• Assisted the Assistant Director of IT in conducting a CIS-CSAT self-assessment aligned with the CIS Critical Security Controls (v8).
• Evaluated the university’s existing security posture to identify gaps, risks, and improvement areas across multiple security domains.
• Helped determine recommended controls and safeguards to strengthen defense-in-depth and improve overall security maturity.
• Contributed to discussions on enhancing layered security controls and prioritizing remediation efforts.
