Committees

Northwest Community EMS System

  • PBPI (Provider Based Performance Improvement) 2014-present. The PBPI Committee is charged with creating and implementing the System's Performance Improvement Plan and making recommendations for the Quality Management section of the System Strategic Plan. They focus on high-risk behaviors and gather information relative to system activities through retrospective run reviews, concurrent monitoring of performance, test/assessment results, and comments from system members.
  • R & D 2014-2016. The Research and Development Committee is charged with the job of reviewing and testing various new medical products presented to the Northwest Community EMS System. They research available literature and published papers as well as conduct field testing of devices and equipment. The committee is made up of representatives from each of the provider agencies as well as members of the EMS system staff, including the EMS Medical Director.
  • CARS (Computer Aided Reporting Systems) 2014-2016. Facilitate the creation and maintenance of a system-wide information system network designed to electronically obtain, record, store, and report patient care data in compliance with the IDPH uniform data set.
  • Cardiac Arrest Committee 2018-2021. The NWC EMSS Cardiac Arrest Committee was established in March 2018 to serve as an interested stakeholder group charged with identifying, analyzing, and recommending treatment, evaluation, and management of cardiac arrest patients in the NWC EMSS. Initial member of the Committee and served as the secretary for the initial year.
