A weekly improvisational acting class for students and adults. Using tools pulled from the Meisner Acting Technique, students learned how intent listening, presence, and supportive playing leads to authentic connection between actors onstage and becomes captivating scene-work.
Ran logistics on production of Standup Comedy Special tapings; booking comedians, managing run of show, stage managing, stage setup, communication with venus and talent. Offered emotional support for talent and staff. Filmed shows and edited various film projects for social media.
A community-based improv comedy jam for all ages. Participants built confidence and gained access to intuition through performing with a randomly assigned group in front of an audience of peers. I facilitated the weekly event, creating a comfortable and inviting space for both new and experienced artists.
An open-mic style live show for film directors. Once a week for 24-weeks in a row, I directed an improvised film that served as the prompt for that week's film challenge. This involved brainstorming 24 original narratives, hiring various directors of photography, directing the shoot with whoever wanted to participate, editing the film, and uploading it online. The entire film would be produced in less than 12 hours each week.
Originally a seasonal position, I toured with an acting team and worked with middle and high school students, performing as well as teaching student workshops and relationship-based small group sessions. After graduation, I was hired full-me to write, direct, and produce all live stage and video elements for camp. I directed college-aged actors in live pieces and served as a seasonal mentor.
Led and taught groups of middle and high school students in small group settings as a part of a church conference weekend. Each weekend, I traveled to meet a new group of students where I'd stay in host homes with them and work through given curriculum. The job included building fast relationships and becoming comfortable having in depth conversations with new people constantly.
