Stroke/Orthopedics PCU

• Conduct strict neurological exams every 4 hours to monitor for any changes in consciousness, motor function, sensation, and cognition
• Patient and family education about stroke risk factors, warning signs, medication adherence, and life-style changes
• Perform neurovascular checks post surgery to monitor for adequate blood flow & detect early signs of deterioration
• Closely monitor patients physicality, vital signs, labs, & test results to provide the highest quality of care
• Directly collaborate with an interprofessional team including physicians, nurse practitioners, specialists, therapists and assistants
• Advanced in the use of EPIC charting and documentation

Nurse Assistant

• Promoted good oral and personal hygiene by aiding patients with shaving, bathing, and teeth brushing.
• Offered immediate assistance in emergency and routine paging situations to evaluate needs and deliver care.
• Participated in fun group activities with patients to boost mood, improve overall memory, and provide entertainment.
