Work History

Management Analyst

Department of Justice, Bureau of ATF
2005.05 - Current

As a management analyst in the Inspection Division I am responsible for analyzing and evaluating data and providing management with sound recommendations based on the results of my findings. I review ATF Orders, Manuals, Directives and Policies to help determine if an office is adhering to organizational policies, regulations and procedures. As part of a team, I conduct office reviews to try and identify any area that may expose the agency to risk. I prepare reports and presentations for the ATF Director, the Executive Staff, and other senior leadership at ATF. Our goal in Inspection is also to educate supervisors on how to improve their performance. We do this by reviewing selected program areas identified by the executive staff scoring the results. We then explain where their office may fall short of compliance expectations, and provide examples of ways to enhance their performance. I also conduct interviews with ATF's State and local partners to make sure the collaborative efforts are operating at peak efficiency. If there are areas of concern that are identified, I relay this information to the affected offices, and if need be the Executive Staff . This ensures that all parties that need to address a particular situation are informed of substantial issues. I also participate in outreach programs that aim to address concerns before they arise. This can be in the form of being an instructor at New Supervisor trainings, or doing presentations to Field Offices and headquarters components to explain the Inspection process and identify ways the office can prepare for their inspections and facilitate the reviews.
