Snowflake Administration

• Implemented and administered Snowflake account.
• Setup authentication to Snowflake using Security Integration Objects, Auth0, SAML, SCIM provisioning (Microsoft Azure AD), key-pair, MFA, network policies, and Private Link.
• Setup role based access control (RBAC) using Snowflake's best practices by using managed schemas, object level roles, and future grants.
• Refreshed lower environments using Zero Copy clones and wrote scripts to update and verify occurrences of embedded references to source environment.
• Designed and monitored warehouse for cost savings and efficiency.
• Setup Resource Monitors to identify issues with virtual warehouses or queries to prevent unexpected costs.
• Identified and optimized poor running SQL by restructuring SQL code, creating materialized tables, changing virtual warehouses, and/or adding clustering keys.
• Set up Time Travel at database and schema levels based on requirements,
• Set up scripts and Snowflake Email Notification to alert when identifying potential issues with data or system.

Snowflake Data Modeling

• Data modeled using a hybrid approach of star-schema table (transactional data) and relational table (i.e customer data) designs.
• Implemented the Raw Data -> Transformation -> End User Layer approach to ELT (Snowflake best practice).
• Created databases and schemas for raw data, data models, end user layer, data marts, and developer sandboxes.
• Created flattened materialized tables in the end-user database to boost performance, security, and reliability.
• Created Snowflake SQL views for complicated report queries instead of embedding the queries in the Tableau Reporting Tool (best practice).

Snowflake Data Engineering

• Loaded and Transformed data for over 40 data sources using Matillion and AWS.
• Loaded AWS S3 and API structured and unstructured data using Matillion, Python, and COPY command.
• Loaded time-sensitive data data using Snow Pipe, Tasks, and Dynamic Tables.
• Recommended and loaded data using Snowflake Data Sharing whenever possible.

Snowflake Customer Data Platform (CDP)

• Loaded customer information received from over 40 data sources.
• Created a custom process to combine customer records from all data sources and determine a single view of the customer based on matching rules.
• Used third-party product to obtain demographic information.
• Wrote Python scripts to receive and send customer data to third-party email segmentation campaign tool.
• Created a table containing a single view of a customer including demographics, lifetime and periodic attendance and spend, customer campaign contact information (sends, opens, clicks, bounces, etc.), customer data source list, last contact dates, favorite lists (drivers, tracks, etc.), opt-in / opt-out by business unit, distances to business unit, etc.

Snowflake Data Governance

• Assigned Snowflake roles to restrict PII data from unauthorized users and applications.
• Used Snowflake data masking, hashing, and scrubbing to hide specific PII data based on role.
• Worked with legal team to define opt-in and opt-out requests and make sure campaigns only reached customers who are allowed to be contacted.
• Flagged phone data contained in the Government Do Not Call list to make sure to call only valid customers.

SQL Server Application Development

• Integrated third-party application data (Tickets.com, EBMS, Wide-Orbit) using T-SQL and SSIS into Workday financials.
• Optimized and standardized newly acquired custom retail system's database.
• Created and enhanced reports using SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS) for custom retail and Great Plains account systems.

Initially contracted for six months to fix an underperforming Oracle Database in a custom ticketing system that extended for 20+ years performing multiple duties.
