Cleaned and resurfaced furnaces regularly using clay, manual and pneumatic tools, and lots of skill and elbow grease.
Was promoted to Lead Operator on the graveyard shift after about a year of service, which involved delegating smelting jobs, oversight, and assisting my team as needed.
Worked in a very dangerous environment where plenty of Personal Protective Equipment was worn, including a full-face respirator, high-heat gloves, metal apron and spats, coveralls, etc.
Participated in "root cause analysis" meetings when something went wrong or an unusual situation arose.
