RM&E /Selective Harvest Biologist II

  • Collect and sample all hatchery surplus and broodstock fish
  • Interrogate for CWT/PIT and Acoustic tags
  • Collect scale and otolith samples, Record and report biological data
  • Monitor, report and record creel data from the CJH spring and summer chinook fisheries as well as spring chinook creel from icicle creek in leavenworth,wa
  • Lead biologist for the CJH coded wire tag lab
  • CWTS are extracted, decoded and reported to RMIS
  • CWTs from wells hatchery are also analyzed in this lab
  • Lead biologist for the CJH Gonadosomatic index lab
  • This metric is used to evaluate the reproductive health and maturity of chinook smolts
  • Monitor and record biological data from various fish traps/gear type: Rotary screw trap, beach seine, purse seine, weir, spawning ground redd/carcass surveys, aerial surveys
  • Assist in pit tagging over 20k chinook fry/SMOLTS, yearly
  • Report, record, identify and interrogate all target species of fish that are caught, AS well as by-catch on the fishing vessel “dreamcatcher” while operating on the columbia river in wells pool
  • CJH summer chinook broodstock are caught via this vessel while providing sockeye and chinook harvest for subsistence and ceremonial purposes
  • Co-author of the CJH spring and summer chinook annual reports
  • (beginning in 2017) Present findings annually to local puds, tribes and other stakeholders at the CJH annual performance review.

Fishing, boating, hockey, carpentry and fine woodworking.

I am an avid fisherman who enjoys being outside with nature. I target walleye, perch, bass, tiger muskie and various salmonids for sport and sustenance. I enjoy camping and all watersports. During my off time, I like to stay active by lifting weights and playing hockey. I've always had a passion for building and spend numerous hours repairing and conducting maintenance on all machines and vehicles. I enjoy building yard games and sport signs as well.
