  • Lead engineer for the management, operations, and maintenance of the State of Vermont MPLS network, which consists of 31 locations throughout Vermont. The administrator for the VPN used for remote access to monitor and troubleshoot the MLS network for service outages.
  • Responsible for maintaining network documentation for all changes, additions, and deletions of network equipment and services.
  • Interface with state personnel on the daily operations, scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the high-speed backhaul network.
  • Provide 24/7/365 call-out service for service outages, trouble, diagnosis, and repair problems in a set time frame.
  • Responsible for all programming and configuration changes made to all network equipment. Maintain all facets of the backhaul network, which consists of Nokia MPR9500 high-speed microwave radios, Nokia 7705 MPLS routers, Eltek -48 VDC power plants and backup batteries, Control By Web external alarm monitoring system, and legacy Nokia 3600/3624 DS1/DS0 drop/insert multiplexers.
  • Provide training to the State of Vermont technicians on the MPR9500 radios, 7705 MPLS routers, Eltek Power Plants, and the Control By Web alarm monitoring system.
  • Specialize in all facets of remote mountaintop communication systems, including access issues, site construction, site surveys, equipment installations, testing, turn-up, and service and maintenance of existing communication sites.
  • Vermont site battery upgrades.
  • Lead engineer responsible for disconnecting old batteries from the Eltek power plant and connecting new lithium batteries to the Eltek power plant. Also, installing, configuring, and testing the Moxa for remote battery monitoring.
  • Vermont 7705 operating software upgrade.
  • Lead Engineer responsible for the Nokia 7705 MPLS router software upgrades from 8.0.R8 to 22.10R6 on 33 routers at sites throughout Vermont. This included writing upgrade procedures, scheduling, training, and directing teams to complete upgrades with minimal service outage time.
  • Vermont, Williston, 911 PSAP Relocation.
  • Lead Engineer responsible for all equipment installations, configurations, turn-up, and testing in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Also responsible for the testing of the new fiber connection to Waterbury.
  • Completed all configurations in the existing MPLS network to incorporate the new PSAP into the network. Interfaced with State of Vermont personnel to ensure all services needed were configured and available, and the cutover from the old Williston PSAP to the new PSAP had zero downtime.
  • Decommissioned and removed all equipment and cabling from the old Williston PSAP, and updated all network documentation. Completed updates, deletions, and all Old Williston PSAP MPLS configurations on all existing MPLS 7705 routers in the network.
  • Vermont Microwave Network Upgrade.
  • Lead Engineer responsible for interfacing and working with Nokia design engineers and project managers to complete the network microwave upgrade in three phases for 26 links.
  • Responsible for accepting and inventorying all new Nokia MPR9500 microwave equipment.
  • Responsible for providing all existing network information needed for the upgrade to Nokia engineers.
  • Responsible for configuring, testing, and delivering all MPR9500 links to the site locations. Completed all Nokia 7705 configurations to incorporate the MPR9500 links.
  • Responsible for the upgrade procedure, scheduling, and cutover of all three phases with minimum service outages. Removed all old MDR8000 microwave radios and cabling.
  • Completed the installation and testing of the Control By Web alarm monitoring system, which replaces the TSM800.

  • Lead engineer responsible for the planning, equipment relocation, installation, configuration, testing, and cutover for relocations of the Middlebury SP barracks to New Haven SP, Bethel SP to Royalton barracks, Rockingham SP, and Brattleboro SP to the new Westminster PSAP, and the activation of the new Berlin SP barracks.

  • Lead engineer responsible for the delivery, replacement, and removal of the Eltek power plant batteries at 31 locations throughout the state, which included several mountaintop locations.

  • Lead engineer responsible for the microwave/backhaul upgrade from OC3 MDR8000 microwave radios to MDR8000 Eth radios, and the upgrade from the OC3/frame relay Nokia 7270s to the Nokia 7705 MPLS routers.
