Joined Army on April 02, 2002, as an infantryman (11B) assigned to Aco 1/87th Infantry battalion 10th Mountain division. Served in a combat deployment to Afghanistan in 2003 as a Saw gunner then as a team leader in charge of 4 soldiers. I received an honorable discharge from active-duty April 01, 2005. Reenlisted on June 06, 2006, in the New York Army National Guard Bco1/69 INF. Deployed to Afghanistan in 2008 serving as a squad leader in charge of 2 Sergeants and 7 soldiers 1 Navy Corpsman. Responsibilities included planning and leading combat patrols, mentoring the Afghanistan National Police, assigned equipment valued over a million dollars (armored vehicles, weapons, radios, night vision and thermal imagery, ammo, explosives). Currently serving in the Regional Training institute as an instructor.
