I am doing construction work right now we are still in the construction phase. I do OPI ( open package inventory) off of a request email for stuff that is needed in the mill. Off load trucks as they come in and operating of different equipment as needed. I also do spot inventory of the material to make sure it is in the location that it says it is on the I pad.
I was in charge of taking care of the meltshop during production and down days. During normal operations taking ladles from the ladle wall to furnace and from LF to the caster and from caster back to ladle wall. I was responsible for making sure the alloy bins was full and the alloys at LF stayed stocked changing electrodes at LF and Furnace. During down days help with the maintenance on the crane and flying things up for the furnace and LF
I was in charge of loading a ecs with scrap that goes into the furnace. I had to load scrap off a computer system I was also in charge of keeping the scrap bays pulled up for scrap trucks to have room to dump. I helped on the floor during down days at the furnace such has help bricking the furnace and cleaning the pits out with skid steer.
I was in charge of pulling coils off the Galv line for prodution. I then sat them in the prep are for the team to OD and ID protectors on the coil, and then I sat them on the wrapper machine to get wrapped, and then I put them into inventory in the bay. I was also in charge of loading rail cars with coils for customers. I also loaded over the road trucks with coils, and I also loaded local trucks to take coils from our bay to kinder morgan for storage. I also worked on the floor on days off to help with overtime coverage I done cutbacks, ran wrapper, and loaded rail cars. I also filled in as lead loader where i made up loads for rail and ordered rail cars for the bay.
We had a four day rotation Day 1 we pulled coils from the hot mill and placed them into inventory in the yard. Day 2 I loaded coils on to over the road trucks for customers i had approximately 60 trucks a day. I also had to make sure that the truck drivers had the right safety equipment. Day 3 I loaded rail cras with a Mi Jack Straddle crane loaded approximately 16 rail cars a day I also cleaned out and set up dunnage in car for the loading of coils. Day 4 I was in charge of loading coils for the pickle line we pulled and staged coils on a beam until the pickle mill was ready for the coil I them loaded coil on to the pickle line. While I was a taylor operator I was also trained as a lead loader, Shipping Bay Crane Operator, Port Crane Operator, and Loco Operator. I also done a interim lead loader for 9 months I was of in charge of leading 10 man crew to meet production, and load rail cars setting up loads in as400 for customers and meeting month end goals. I also filled in at the port crane to load barges when needed.
I helped a Nucor employee set up tundishes for the caster and helped cleaning around the tundish yard. I was in charge of cleaning out the tundish and setting the split rings for the SEN. I was also in charge of setting the heater in the tundish and dri vibe material around it and bake it For 2 hours. Then I would pull the heater and set the furniture in the tundish to get ready to fly up to caster. Done some belly box crane work such as fly material up to the deck and fly tundish to tundish car for the caster.
I was in charge of Loading Buckets for the Nucor Furnace. I had to load layers into charge buckets i had to hit target weights on the different scrap on the computer system.
