  • Monitoring compressor and scale operations from the operator shelter specific to the Truck Dock
  • Connect/disconnect LPG rail cars to load/offload and verify product lineups
  • Monitor surveillance cameras for any incident or event that warrants shutdown loading or unloading operations
  • Prepare documentation including Bills of Lading
  • Conduct yard checklist to gather railcar information for the logistics group
  • Conduct inspections of the truck dock and railcar racks to assure that equipment and surrounding areas are safe, secure and equipment is operating satisfactorily
  • Conduct inspections of railcars
  • Fill out applicable work/hot work permits, perform lockout/tag-out, daily logs, attend and participate in tailgate sessions

  • Secure the railcar for movement upon completion of loading and unloading
  • Using all safety measures when using hoses to connect with tank cars to load various chemicals such as: Propylene, Propane and Isobutane, Low Sulfur Normal Butane
  • Keep a visual on the required measurements that is needed to fill for customers
  • Also, in charge of completing Propane tank car freeze testing, tank car product flaring, car stenching and P/P mix off-loading
  • Once tank cars have met their proper measurements, I contact the control room to inform them that orders for the customer have been met and begin to break down the hoses and seal the tank car safely and prepare it for shipment.

  • As a yard master I oversee the movement of railcars on the chemical and refinery side of the plant and visually check switch conditions and train systems
  • In addition with the yard master software Bourque Logistics I’m able to move railcars and issue out switch lists to the crew leaders and managers to give them an idea of what and how many cars are in the plant and what tracks they’re located on
  • Also, I ensure that railroad tracks are adequate, functional and conform to Exxon standards and top management's safety instructions
  • Communicate with Excel to inform them which rail cars are being loaded and unloaded
  • Also speak with Exxon managers to let them know how many rail cars are entering and leaving the yard
  • Work in collaboration with brakemen, terminal workers and train service conductors when performing duties.
