- Gathered products, to be uploaded to Shopify, using BASH Shell scripts, Excel, JSON and Javascript.
- I helped the owner get to a rolling start by showing them the way to photograph their photos, in a consistent, methodical process. I took the images they shot, and the excel sheet and ran BASH scripts I had written to get his excel sheets into the proper formatting for Shopify. I ripped the time-stamps from the images, and ordered them with the correct descriptions, I also modified the scripts to create html and css, to his data, to enhance the display of his products, inside Shopify.
- I used Linux, BASH, HTML, CSS, Regular Expressions (to clean the data) and Javascript for all my work there.
- This solved the problem of hand typing each product one-by-one, into his system, and allowing for consistent images for his store.
- I learned the Shopify system and file structure.
- I stood up, and managed a server to facilitate the transfer of his images to the production machine.
- We completed all his products. His site is still running and fully inventoried.

- 2008 I was assigned to begin tracking weapons qualifications onboard USS CARR, Norfolk.
- I looked at SharePoint as an option.
- I used Visual Basic for Applications, and maintained and updated a custom application to track 5 courses of fire for the crew.
- 2012 I adopted that application to the iPhone, and then to a website, using html, css, php, and javascript. I had to learn other additional concepts such as how to convert data from Javascript objects to JSON, to CSV to allow data downloads of the shooters.
- 2013 I received a Navy Achievement Medal for a remake of the tool (using Visual Basic and Excel) which specified when personnel were expiring, who needed physicals and what courses of fire they were needing, among many other parameters that went into running a range and tracking qualifications. This tool, batch printed weapons qualification cards, and allowed the armorer to print cards while ensuring credentials were indeed accurate and approved by the Commanding Officer.
- After retiring, I maintained a website, that allowed range masters to go and load the site with shooters, and print weapons cards, and download the data to csv. After spending more time in my career, I stopped making updates and removed the site.
