I have worked as a Trooper and Sergeant for the Texas Department of Public Safety since September 1999. I am currently a Technical Training Sergeant with the Commercial Vehicle Training Unit. I hold a Texas Master Peace Officer Certificate. I have been a certified Texas Peace Officer Instructor since 2010 and a certified NTC Instructor since 2018. I am currently certified to instruct Cargo Tank Inspection and Passenger Carrying Vehicle Inspection. I will obtain certification to instruct General Hazardous Materials Inspection and Other Bulk Packaging Inspection by the end of 2024. I teach hazardous materials incident response at the Texas Department of Public Safety Training Academy. I maintain the CVSA Emergency Declarations page for Texas. I also create power points for recertification course and class/course curriculum for those courses and also for our Part C (intrastate) course. I maintain inspector certification by conducting roadside inspections. I conduct safety presentations and answer questions for industry representatives to ensure compliance with the federal regulations and maintain safety standards within their companies. Prior to the CVE Training Unit, I was a Highway Patrol Sergeant supervising Trooper and civilian personnel. I have instructed leadership classes, firearms, and other assorted class for Texas DPS.
