• Diagnoses and troubleshoots malfunctions in electrical components including solid state and transistorized subsystems.
• Repairs aircraft instrument systems, applies principles of electricity/electronics, hydrostatic motion, pneumatics and hydraulics applicable to repair aircraft instrument systems.
• Removes installs, repairs, adjusts and tests electrical / electronic elements of assemblies and components according to technical manuals, directives and safety procedures requisitions.
• Maintains shop bench stock for repair of aircraft electrical systems.
• Inspects and clears aircraft for flight once parts are repaired and replaced.
• Trained in the use of technical manuals and basic electronics including wire maintenance, wire assembly, and voltage testing.
• Gained hands-on experience with aircraft radios, frequencies/communication, navigation systems, including troubleshooting and connecting navigational equipment to multiple aircraft systems.
• Developed proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, testing wires harnesses, ohms, and automatic flight control system (AFCS) components.
• Acquired foundational knowledge of Blackhawk and Chinook aircraft systems, including basic functions of command and instrument systems and Blackhawk wiring layouts.
• Trained in the use of night vision equipment
• Maintained hand and special tools in safe and serviceable condition and reported unserviceable tools and equipment to management.

In addition to the avionics duties listed above, the following responsibilities are required of an Army National Guard Soldier during monthly drill periods:

• Dedicated one weekend each month and two weeks to a month during summer training, focusing on operational preparedness and effective problem solving.
• Developed personal resilience and leadership abilities through consistent service, fostering a strong sense of pride and commitment to the Army’s mission.
• Participated in extensive military drills that strengthened technical skills, teamwork, and mission readiness.
• Utilized and maintained proficiency in small arms and artillery systems during training and operational scenarios.
• Trained personnel on the proper operation and maintenance of military equipment.
• Participated in audits and the Aviation Resource Management Survey (ARMS) to ensure accountability, safety, and compliance with stringent Army regulations.

• Community liaison working with medical offices, skilled nursing facilities, and patients, to ensure excellent at-home patient care.
