Brianna Boahene

A first-year student at Spelman College on the pre-med track and a first-generation college student from New York. Is passionate about medicine, health equity, and advocacy with a goal of becoming a pediatric oncologist. Experiences have highlighted deep healthcare disparities, reinforcing a commitment to bridging those gaps.

Plans include pursuing an MD/MPH to integrate clinical care with public health, ensuring that systemic issues are addressed alongside patient treatment. A strong interest in gaining hands-on experience in medicine, research, and community health drives a long-term goal of making a lasting impact in pediatric oncology and contributing to a more equitable healthcare system.

• Member, Health Careers Club, Spelman College, Participates in events and discussions focused on public health, medical research, and career opportunities in healthcare.
• Tutor & Mentor, SpelReads Literacy Program, Spelman College, Provides literacy support and mentorship to young students in underserved communities. Helps develop reading comprehension and critical thinking skills in children.
• Social Media & Digital Outreach, Arlington Basketball Team, Created and managed the official Instagram page for the high school basketball team. Increased online engagement and provided media coverage of games and events.
• Hospital Volunteer, Assisted patients and hospital staff, gaining exposure to clinical environments and patient care.
