Dedicated Biomedical Science student with a passion for cardiovascular care and hands-on clinical experience. As an officer in the Perfusion Society, I have organized professional meetings with perfusionists and gathered valuable insights into the field. My background includes assisting in cadaver dissections, working directly with healthcare professionals, and gaining patient experience through CNA training. I am committed to advancing my skills in perfusion, driven by a strong foundation in anatomy and patient care.
Organized meetings with current perfusion students and professional perfusionists to share their experiences and provide advice to the society. Compiled and structured information on various perfusion programs for undergraduate students, ensuring they understood the required coursework and program expectations. This experience enhanced my organizational and communication skills.
Provided instruction to students in human anatomy for 4 hours per week. Assisted in four cadaver dissections, focusing on the superior chest, superior forearm, posterior thigh, and deep chest. Guided students in identifying various anatomical structures during each session. I found it rewarding to witness students’ amazement as they experienced human anatomy firsthand through dissection.
Witnessed a 6-hour triple CABG procedure and I had the opportunity to interviewed perfusionist and cardiac surgeon before the surgery began. I went in excited to watch an open heart surgery and it exceeded my expectations. Something i got out of this experience was that boring is good, when things are exciting it means there are complications.
