· Coordinates the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) program for the hospital in collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director and the Trauma Program Manager
· Oversees the collection, tracking, and benchmarking of trauma PI issues related to patient care and system development
· Serves as a resource/mentor to others in the area of trauma PI and registry
· Ensures that all admitted trauma patients have some level of PI review
· Assists in choosing cases to be discussed at various trauma PI venues
· Designs, runs, and disseminates Trauma PI Reports as needed
· Maintains of the trauma registry’s outcomes module, ensures adequate documentation as required by the American College of Surgeons, ability to produce clear, effective reports and to track issues over time
· Assists with compliance with ACS standards; knowledgeable concerning pertinent ACS standards, trauma registry guidelines, and other standards pertinent to this area
· Tracks all trauma PI issues for all trauma units and disciplines; develops or assists other in developing action plans and ensures follow through on these plans
