Work History

Surface Warfare Officer

U.S. Navy Active Duty
Norfolk, United States
05.2019 - Current
  • As a senior qualified Officer of the Deck, I expertly mentored junior officers and completed several events certifying our ship in navigation, aviation, and seamanship, which prepared our command for various deployment missions and taskings.
  • Entrusted by a Commanding Officer of our world's finest Destroyers, I led several bridge teams in driving the ship through 4 Suez Canal, 14 Bab al-Mandab, and 2 Straits of Gibraltar transits. In addition, I served in the Red Sea, Gulf of Oman, Gulf of Aden, and the Northern Arabian sea in continuous watch to ensure freedom of navigation across the world.
  • Deployed in the outbreak of a global pandemic with no port calls for 7 months. A true test to leadership was utilizing emotional intelligence and communication to provide sailors the support they needed to continue the fight.
  • Led a team of 17 ITs as the communications officer and drove procedural compliance in overseeing all critical details needed for communications, cyber, and managing crypto (KMI) onboard for success in all operations.
  • Tracked and meticulously accounted for over 1000 items of cryptographic material to include numerous inspections and certifying events that relied heavily on a detailed vault inventory; a job usually given to a more senior officer.
  • Ensured uninterrupted communications while deployed, and seamlessly planned and executed a LAN migration to and from the ship to a barge during the 6 month CNO availability.
  • Single-handedly crafted a flawless plan for participation across 3 departments in a Secretary of Defense communications exercise in nuclear defense.
  • Responsible for ensuring personnel are properly trained, the ship has the adequate manning, and the command's knowledge remains ready for operational commitments.
  • Schedule schools for over 300 sailors, coordinate training opportunities with several entities all over the waterfront, and prepare projects to develop our sailors during this rigorous maintenance phase.
  • Integrated intelligence activities into other military operations, plans and programs.
  • Oversaw teams planning, implementing and realigning field and base operational strategies.
  • Handled administrative requirements, maintained records and submitted operational reports.
  • Participated in team-building activities to enhance working relationships.
  • Developed and implemented performance improvement strategies and plans to promote continuous improvement.
  • Conducted research, gathered information from multiple sources and presented results.
  • Supervised work of contracted employees to keep on task for timely completion.
  • Resolved conflicts and negotiated mutually beneficial agreements between parties.
  • Carried out day-day-day duties accurately and efficiently.
  • Managed on-site evaluations, internal audits and customer surveys.
  • Performed duties in accordance with applicable standards, policies and regulatory guidelines to promote safe working environment.
  • Directed collection, organization and application of field intelligence and combat data to enhance troop safety and operational success.
  • Prepared and delivered investigative reports and briefings.
