I did in home care directly after getting my CNA license in 2004. Started at Peacehealth in 2008 and am currently employed with them. I started on OHVI 4(cardiac surgery unit) and transitioned to Cath prep and recovery in 2017. I have always been intrigued by the medical field and the ability to move and learn new things.
This was my first position at the hospital in the Cardiac Surgery Unit. I stayed in the unit until 2017 when I made the transition down to Cath Prep and Recovery where I currently work.
As a monitor tech I watched patients who were on the heart monitor and watched for any arrhythmias or changes and notified the nurse.
I also answered phones and helped family members.
We still had paper charts at this point so I helped with order entry as well.
