I started working in childcare in 2012, which after 2 years of working with children I decided to go work at Walgreens for more experience. I worked at Walgreens as a photo technician but still filled in as the front desk associate as well as cosmetics occasionally until the opportunity to move into pharmacy was presented. I worked in the pharmacy for 3 years until I had my older son in which I realized that I needed adequate childcare which is what brought me back to childcare. In 2017 I moved to Stephenville and quickly gained employment at Little Tigers Learning Center which is where I worked full time until February 2023. I was determined to start working at Glen Rose ISD and took the first opportunity which was in the child nutrition department so I could get my foot in the door with an ISD. I went through a divorce at this time so I needed extra income so I worked in the kitchen then did a bus route as a monitor while still working part time at Little Tigers. I'd drop my son off at daycare and be to work by 6:30am and would finish in the kitchen at 1:30pm, I would pick my younger son up from daycare and would get on a bus at 3pm which is when I would pick up my older son. Once the bus route was finished I would go work at the daycare as a floater until the end of day, during the summer and school breaks I would work full time at Little Tigers. After my divorce and move home was granted, I applied at Hillsboro ISD as well as other districts in the area. I was employed with Whitney ISD and started July 2023. I am currently employed with WISD as a paraprofessional. I go into classes and work independently with the children on the list given. I also go into classes that currently do not have a substitute, I try to fill in wherever I'm needed. I brought a program from Glen Rose that my son was apart of- with permission, called Jr. Wildcats. I have been able to implement my program within Whitney ISD where kids grades Kindergarten- 6th grade is paired with a varsity player as a mentorship program. I pitched the idea to the superintendent, athletic director, and finally the booster club. Within the first year of pitching the idea we have been able to have Jr. Wildcats football, cheer, and volleyball while baseball and softball's program is "Minor Leagues" in which I work closely with the booster club, kids, and parents. I am willing to learn anything. I am a hard worker, I also have plenty of ideas that could make a big impact on a school district if given the opportunity.
