Additional Information

During my time in the emergency department, I have been named employee of the month for providing basic life support to a visitor outside of the patient care setting, which saved his life.

I was nominated during the 2023 Spirit Awards by my peers for Outstanding Achievement and Beacon Values.

I have been involved in our EDGE (Emergency Department Gaining Excellence) Committee within our department, supporting ED patients and the nursing staff members that care for them.

During my bachelors program, I assisted our then trauma director on revamping our paper documentation to be more user friendly to our ED staff.

I have been trained in the relief charge nurse role and have been assisting with that for the past 5 years.

I have been trained as a nurse preceptor and have successfully trained 5 nurses, 3 of which are still working within the emergency department.

I volunteer to take on student nurses during their clinicals.

I am passionate about learning new things to help other nurses on the floor. I have taken the time, currently and in the past, to become proficient on certain clinical devices such as the Belmont, previous rapid infuser, Heparin power plan, DKA protocol, mini infuser, istat machine, vein viewer, etc.
