- As a kindergarten teacher, I am responsible for the early education and development of young children. My role is to provide a nurturing and safe environment where children develop social skills. I was responsible for planning and delivering lessons to engage children in learning activities that meet their individual needs. I have been trained in using EDI (Explicit Direct Instruction) lessons. This has helped deliver effective lessons that significantly improved achievement for all learners, including English learners and students with special needs. In order to verify that students were learning while teaching, I was trained to use TAPPLE. TAPPLE helped get feedback from the students to determine the pace of the lesson. As a kindergarten teacher it is important to create and maintain a positive classroom culture where children feel valued, respected, and encouraged to participate. Throughout my eight years of teaching kindergarten I have learned skills in communication and problem-solving to work closely with parents, administrators, and other teachers. My experience with working with young children has been very rewarding.

- I was a pitcher for the Reedley Softball College team. During 2008 and 2009 I received the award all league pitcher and was put in the local news paper.
