In this role, I conduct screenings, initiate referrals when necessary, complete risk assessments, participate in on-call rotation, provide same day and other consultative services, and work with high-risk clients while maintaining a small case load of individual clients in a college setting.
The office manager assumes all responsibilities, additional duties, performance expectations, and qualifications required of a student clinician outlined below. The office manager also functions as a liaison to the clinic director, conducts telephone screenings/initial case assignments, maintains the clinic calendar, completes data entry, coordinates initial scheduling of appointments, delegates essential administrative duties to student clinicians (e.g. filing, monitoring the telephone, etc.), and oversees petty cash deposits.
Student clinicians provide counseling to individuals, couples, and families with career, academic,and personal adjustment concerns. Clinicians develop collaborative treatment plans with measurable objectives and evidenced based interventions. Additional clinician responsibilities include hosting outreach workshops, identifying appropriate levels of care, and referring cases that exceed the severity outlined in the CCC inclusionary criteria.
Patient registration representatives are responsible for performing a variety of multiple customer-focused Access Center tasks (pre-registration verification, pre-admission, limited financial counseling, co-pay collection, collaborate with bed placement coordinators, order entry, account verification and updates, urgent registrations).
Tutor Counselors are responsible for the well-being of Upward Bound students. Counseling, academic tutoring, and various types of supervision are all facets of this responsibility. Additional responsibilities include keeping close contact with high-school students in all aspects of community life, enforcing program rules and codes of behavior, and responding to disturbances in classes and program activities.
Resident assistants function as systems of support for college residents and are responsible for maintaining a dormitory environment that promotes physical/mental wellbeing. The position involves regularly interacting with students and boosting morale through the hosting of social and educational events. Additional responsibilities include providing crisis intervention, monitoring residence halls, and collaborating with university staff.
