  • Management of the Jackson County Emergency Management program. Verbal and written communication with elected officials, first responders, state personnel, and federal personnel. Coordination of the Department of Emergency Services (DES) meetings, Emergency Operations Center (EOC) staff training, and Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC). Coordination with the Jackson County Public Schools for safety planning and training.
  • Creation, editing, and uploading of documents in/from Microsoft Office, Google Drive, WebEOC, Share Point, and NIMS IAP through Google Drive.
  • Operation and maintenance of mapping layers in CalTopo, Google Earth, and Garmin mapping software programs. Some operation of ArcGIS mapping. Printing and usage of USGS Quadrangle maps in scale with map reading tools, and compass.
  • Policy writing, writing and revision of (SOP) standard operating procedures, scheduling, and emergency planning. Maintaining of the Jackson County Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), Emergency Support Functions (ESF), Threat and Hazards Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA), and Incident Specific Plans (ISF).
  • Manage search and rescue incidents as the SAR Coordinator for Jackson County. Implementation of ICS principles and practices. Utilization of the Lost Person Questionnaire, Search Urgency Form, and Lost Person Behavior Handbook. Developed plans, IAP's, and search areas on maps for individual incidents. Tracked personnel and resources for SAR incidents. Conducted interviews with the reporting parties. Coordinate resources and resource procurement such as specialized personnel, equipment, feeding, and staging. Operation of the county owned drone for SAR operations with infrared and video.
  • Volunteer coordination in the 2025 Laurel County tornado. Tracked volunteer labor and equipment hours for debris removal. Assigned locations utilizing mapping software. Tracked check in/out via an ICS T-Card rack. Coordinated a volunteer staging location. Reported analytical data and progress to the Laurel County EOC. Attended operations briefings. Communicated with KYEM, Emergency Management, volunteers, Laurel County Fiscal Court, and the City of London.
  • Coordinate and manage the (CSEPP) Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program for Jackson County with the program director. Planned exercises and maintained equipment. Received a best practice in 2022 for resource, patient, and responder tracking. Received an honorable mention in 2022 for implementation of ICS principles in the exercise. Aided in CSEPP program budgeting and project management such as the county radio communication system, and equipment procurement.
  • Assist the floodplain manager with planning.
  • Liaison with the Jackson County Fiscal Court, City of McKee, and other stakeholders with FEMA as the Applicant Agent of Jackson County. Management of DR-4860 for Jackson County.
  • Development, implementation, and communication of an emergency plan for the Jackson County Fair yearly. Developed specific plans for missing juveniles, mass casualty incidents (MCI), civil unrest, heat exposure, fire, and traffic control.
