I am a special education professional with a proven track record of fostering inclusive learning environments and implementing effective instructional strategies. My belief is that a strong emphasis on team collaboration and achieving positive educational outcomes, makes being adaptable to changing classroom dynamics a natural outcome. I am skilled in behavior management, curriculum development, and student advocacy, bringing reliability and flexibility to role.
I am a former special education teacher who is familiar with challenges associated with teaching special needs children. My ability to remains positive under times of stress or conflict have been applied to every aspect of my life. Because I am able to work well with classroom teachers whether it's developing accommodations or special techniques for mainstream classroom inclusion, I have maintained several lifelong friendships with those I have taught beside or manage as their director.
As a daycare director I was successful at bringing the daycare from near closure to thriving in 5 years time. We went from about 20 students to just over 100, including Summer Camp children, in that time period. We also maintained a waiting list of over 40 children.
We focused on developing our own curriculum set to Cobb standards. And then went beyond as we were able. My staff had very little turnover and most of our children were there from birth till Pre-K. With the curriculum we developed we were often able to send our students to Kindergarten on a first grade level.
I was also able to identify children with special needs early and help walk parents through the process of setting up IEP meetings with schools. Often going to the first IEP meeting with them.
