  • During time at Heartland Regional Medical Center, many skills were obtained that are still used today

  • The orientation process was redesigned and implemented with the assistance of the operating room educator to reduce staff turnover
  • Communication and morale were two of the leading indicators that were immediately improved upon
  • Room turnover times were also assessed with a key plan developed
  • Current state saw more than a 50% reduction in turnover times with the current overall time under national benchmarks
