  • Johnson City Medical Center: Shadowed alongside patient transport. Encountered various departments and how they interoperate within a hospital (Diagnostics, Radiology, Wound care, Trauma center, med Lab, and unit floors.
  • Ballad CVA Heart Institute: Assisted in administrative duties such as creating/organizing patient admission forms. Shadowed alongside cardiac lab techs to observe catheterization, and later under CNA and RN during patient recovery.

Dental Practice Shadow

  • Dr. Bowers Pediatric Clinic: Worked closely in observing the main dentist conduct procedures including fillings to crown replacements and gained an understanding of how a private clinic operates.
  • Sturgil Orthodontics: Shadowed along main orthodontist and dental assistants during medical procedures such as placement of braces, dental molds, and creating of retainers and other prosthetics.
  • ETSU hygiene clinic: Observed dental hygiene students working with fillings, local anesthesia administration, PPE importance, and patient charting.
