• Performed various duties to provide a safe, clean recreational experience to visitors and their families. In efforts of reducing the negative impact on the natural environment. These duties include ; daily cleaning and maintenance within the campgrounds, day use areas, dispersed campsites and road side visitor centers.
• Ensured all restrooms were clean and fully stocked with toilet paper and other necessary sanitary products.
• Maintaned a total of 18 developed campgrounds and 5 day use sites within the North Yuba Ranger District. My efforts include picking up trash, sorting recyclables accordingly, raking leaves and other debris away from fire rings and campsites, shoveling out fire pits, inspecting bear boxes, picnic tables and fire rings for any damage repairing or replacing as needed.
• Performed equipment maintenance and repairs to keep tools functional such as checking and changing fluids in gas powered tools, sharpening or replacing chainsaw chains, bars and performed other necessary repairs.
• Safely and effectively operated power tools and landscaping tools to trim tree limbs and bushes to maintain the natural beauty while also minimalizing fuels for potential wildfire risk within campgrounds and forestry land.
• Engaged with the public on a daily basis providing information on recreation opportunities, current restrictions and conditions, as well as education on Forest Service rules and regulations.
• Ensured all campground reservations were clearly posted and up to date.
• Adhered to health and safety regulations to reduce workplace hazards as well as hazards to the public.
• Issued campfire permits, explained current fire hazard conditions, campfire size, and appropriate locations as well as instructions on how to thoroughly extinguish campfires.
