Manager of a closed-door pharmacy specializing in severe and persistent mental illness. I facilitate and direct efficient workflow to ensure accuracy and execute production of compliance packing so orders can be delivered on time, via courier, to patients, nurses, group homes, personal care homes, and case managers. I also manage and update paper and electronic MARS for personal care homes and group homes. I collaborate with care coordinators to ensure patient assistance and prior authorizations are executed so there is no disruption in care for consumers' medication. In addition, I search for funding for specialty medication and assist consumers in applying for grants. I assist in medication therapy management, via Outcomes MTM. I also collaborate with healthcare providers, such as doctors, nurses, and case managers, to develop medication plans. I also manage drug inventory, searching multiple vendors for the best cost to maximize margin for the pharmacy. I analyze every claim and ensure accuracy of billing to reduce insurance audits, and will make suggestions for medication therapy changes based on the medication, margin, and insurance company reimbursement to maximize profit. I assist in NADAC appeals, when appropriate.
This position was due to acquisition of Target Pharmacy. I facilitated and directed efficient workflow, managed payroll, inventory, managed technicians, and executed on time orders, resulting in increased customer satisfaction. I encouraged pharmacists and technicians to make goals, such as 90 day prescription conversions, extra care enrollments, and immunization metrics. I was consistently #1 in the district for patient satisfaction on the weekly metric results.
Managed all aspects of pharmacy operations, running a green store and exceeding expectations on every annual review. I interviewed and trained new pharmacists. I was part of the recruitment team that represented Target in pharmacist career fairs in Georgia and South Carolina. I was selected for a special team of pharmacists that traveled to struggling stores across the country to assist in the roll out of the new pharmacy computer software. I ran immunization clinics on and off site. I managed the pharmacy inventory and was part of the district inventory specialist team that supported other pharmacies across the district. I was also a preceptor for South University, providing students a site for IPPE and APPE rotations.
I was the staff pharmacist and market scheduler for all of the pharmacists in my district, covering 12 stores between Georgia and South Carolina. I worked this hybrid position being part time in store and part time scheduling until I was offered to be PIC at my own store.
