Purpose of the Position:

A Produce Clerk at Giant Eagle is responsible for stocking, rotating, pricing, and maintaining the produce department, while delivering customer service and ensuring product freshness and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive, prepare, weigh, and package produce as needed for sales and displays.
• Replenish and rotate products in cases and shelves , ensuring code dating procedures are followed for freshness.
• Maintain attractive, clean displays and remove any products that are spoiled or do not meet quality standards.
• Assist customers on the sales floor , providing product knowledge and helping locate or select items.
• Inventory and ordering support : monitor stock levels and may help with ordering or receiving shipments.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures to keep the area and equipment clean and safe.

Purpose of the Position:

A Carroll Reads Early Literacy Tutor is placed with an elementary school to provide supplemental practice through tutoring children in kindergarten through third grades to develop the children's early literacy skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Attend and complete all required paperwork and training sessions throughout the semester.
• Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions with students using literacy materials provided by CSSA.
• Assist children to improve their reading skills and abilities to reach grade level expectations.
• Act on feedback and coaching from the Carroll Reads Site Coordinator and Graduate Assistant.
• Regularly review student data with the Carroll Reads Site Coordinator to gauge the effectiveness of the literacy intervention being used and determine if a change in strategy is necessary.
• Communicate with students in an age and developmentally appropriate way.
• Professionally communicate with the Carroll Reads Site Coordinator, CSSA Graduate Assistant, Principals, and school staff regarding student interventions and student progress.
• Act on constructive feedback provided by the Carroll Reads Site Coordinator.
• Ensure confidentiality of all student records and test scores.
• Help the student develop confidence and a positive attitude toward learning by affirming their progress.
• Give praise whenever the student is successful and being supportive rather than critical of mistakes.
• Consistent, reliable attendance at all sessions is required. Commit to regular, timely attendance requirements at the assigned service site throughout the semester.
• Attend all required training sessions, meetings, and coaching sessions.
