Experienced school bus driver and instructor with over 40 years in the field. Known for strong driving skills and a commitment to safety, contributing to efficient operations and positive student experiences.
Over the years I have carried different kinds of customers ( ie. students PK to12, college, special needs, construction workers as well as teachers, coaches, and parents) and have strong communication skills that have enabled me to interact successfully with all.
I am a member of the California Association of School Transportation Officials (CASTO) and attended the last conference this February.
I am also active in School Bus Safety Roadeos around the State and at various CASTO chapters as a organizer, participant, and judge.
In 2018 I had participated in the California State Roadeo Championship in Bakersfield (My second State Championship) and though I didn't win in my category I was subsequently asked to go to to Philadelphia Pennsylvania to represent the State of California in the "small bus" category where I placed 4th out of 9 participants from around the country and Canada. I have always felt School Bus Roadeos perform an important function in promoting safety by training and testing
of school bus drivers in precision movement of the vehicle, proper procedural skills, and knowledge of current laws and regulations. Plus they are fun and reinforce my teaching philosophy: KISSMIF (Keep It Simple Stupid; Make It Fun).
