Work History

Senior Officer Specialist

Federal Bureau Of Prisons Department Of Justice
Berlin, NH
06.2024 - Current

During my time in Bureau of Prisons, where I started was FCC Allenwood at the USP/High, I started as a GL-7 and then stepped up into a Gl-8-1, where recently I was just stepped up again to a GL-8-2. I attended FLETC in Sept 2024 where I was certified as a federal law enforcement officer, with the BOP Department Of Justice. I started working compound as an officer learning different operations of USP Allenwood, and how they ran, I volunteered to be apart of the CTO program, which I completed within 7months.

With background in a large County Prison prior to my service with the FEDS, I worked as a OIC, CPL, Sgt, and an Acting Lieutenant towards the end of my service there which was a total of 12/13yrs, which I worked gang and drugs in and out of the prison this gave me experience when I came to the Bureau, where I took a quarter working the gang drop out units and Visitation. I worked closely with SIS and The NGU watching for patterns and possible drugs and contraband moving in and out. On several occasions working with SIS and The NGU, along with other supporting staff like compound we were able to identify individuals and stop introductions to the prison and the units. Which could potentially take lives of inmates, and the lives of officers.

Than I decided to take a different direction, and go for the 4A mental health/ "Step down" units. With a background in mental health and addictions. I was able to work with Psych staff, in identifying problem inmates, do to mental health issues, and their transition to a semi normal life in as an inmate, with proper mental and health care. During this time I received two special act awards for intervening to save a life.

Moving forward I took on the armed front screener post, where I could identify possible contraband coming into the prison, I am happy to say no contraband was ever attempted to be introduced. Part of my duties were to also work closely with the NGU and SIS to identify high alert phone calls that could be a lead to introduce contraband into the facility or grounds, identify gang related activity, other rule infractions and also identified 3rd party phone calls, which are violation of the rules for inmates.

Recently I transferred to FCI Berlin, which is a Medium, and also contributes as a detention center for Ice/Immigration. I started out just as a TDY where I was an officer under ICE and we maintained order with the illegal immigrants that are being held pending case outcome, during that period of time I put my transfer in to be a full member of the Berlin team. I recently out in my interest for DCT here at Berlin, and have future aspects of becoming a LT.
