I started competitive swimming at the age of 7, mainly because my parents wanted me to. I never quite understood why I did swim when I was younger. I always thought it was too hard and a waste of my time but as I grew older I started to really love competing and even showing up for practice since I met what are now my lifelong friends. I realized how good I was at swim and it wasn't till I was about 12 that I stopped doing multiple sports and completely shifted my focus to swimming. I competed in many big meets such as State Championship, Far Westerns, Zones, and Sectionals. I would travel to places such as Austin, San Jose, Portland, and Flagstaff just to compete in the big meets. Swimming all this time really made me build a work ethic like no other and to build bonds with strangers who are now my favorite people on this planet. I even learned the feeling of a true coach to athlete bond and will forever be grateful for the time I spent in the pool and out of the pool. Unfortunately, I realized that I fell out of love with swimming due to such brutal practices or even the wear and tear that took place with me physically and officially decided to quite in early November of 2022.
