• Provide comprehensive care for cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients across inpatient, outpatient, and operating room settings
• Perform pre- and post-operative evaluations, inpatient rounding, and follow-up histories and physical exams
• First assist in surgeries, including positioning, exposure, and closure
• Assist with Da Vinci Surgical System (Xi and Model 5): setup, docking, bedside assisting, and instrument exchange
• Manage post-operative care, including pain control, wound, drain, and line management, and discharge planning
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic studies (labs, EKGs, imaging, cardiopulmonary tests)
• Prescribe medications and therapies per protocols and scope of practice
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain accurate EMR documentation
