My first Introductory job into food service and hospitality. I was entitled to a constantly growing list of responsibilities over the years as I grew as an employee.
As a food runner I was responsible for maintaining condiments and addressing any shortages of items on the food line such as silverware, napkins, and decor. I had to also accurately run food to the correct tables in correspondence with other employees to ensure a proper and consistent presentation.
As a busser I was entailed with maintaining cleanliness of all tables and floors. Ensure servers had a rotation of clean tables so they could effectively keep the flow of customers coming in and being served. Had to deal with all restroom incidents in a busy metropolitan bar and was responsible for trash.
As a Barback I had to maintain 11 wells between 3 different bars at one single restaurant location. Keep stock on all soda concentrates and change out any empty kegs. Was also responsible for clearing counters and washing any bar-related dishware in the back. I had to also interpret and relay information from customers to bartenders when there was a lack of team members.
As a hostess I answered phone calls, made reservations, and sat customers following a system that ensured all servers got an even disbursement of clientele.
