TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
With my position with Hemet Bros I worked closely with a project team at our job office building a schedule to perform a 90+Million dollar project for Penn Dot over the course of three years. The first year on the project I worked closely with all crews performing the work in the first phase of construction widening 6 miles of interstate 283, installing crossovers, temporary ramps for each interchange and implemented all temporary traffic control to begin the next phase of construction the following spring.
Over the winter as a team with another superintendent we took off all of the quantities for the work that needed performed in the next phase of construction. We then formed a schedule for the entire phase of construction for the entire work season working closely with PennDot to make sure it met their expectations. Once construction stared my responsibilities were to manage the field crews working closely with them to keep them on schedule, moving equipment throughout the project as one section was finished that they could move on to the next. As well as scheduling site truck which was approximately 50 per day. I worked closely with 4 excavation crews, 2 fine grade crews as well as all of the subcontractors. My other responsibilities were to manage the pipe crews moving them along the way coordinating their work so it wouldn't interfere with the 4 excavation crews. Once we finished for the season back to the drawing board we went and everything replicated the work we did the previous year. We are currently in second to last phase of the project with minor excavation left to finish next year and to finish paving all wearing over the entire project that spans 6 miles East and West with 4 interchanges.
