Job Summary:
Key Technician oversees all aspects of key and lock systems within the organization. This role is responsible for managing key control protocols, maintaining and installing locks, and supervising a team of technicians to ensure the safety and security of facilities. Key Technician works closely with security and facilities teams to support access control and ensure proper documentation and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the key and lock systems.
Install, maintain, repair, and rekey locks and locking systems (mechanical and electronic).
Manage master key systems and key control records.
Supervise and train junior technicians and coordinate workloads.
Collaborate with security and facilities personnel on access control projects.
Respond to lockouts and emergency requests in a timely manner.
Maintain inventory of key blanks, locks, and parts.
Ensure compliance with security protocols and procedures.
Create and maintain documentation for key distribution and lock system changes.
Recommend improvements to security and key control processes.
