DAILY SHIFT MANAGEMENT

Directs assigned portions of the operation of a shift of correctional officers and supervisors engaged in the custody, security and control of adult inmates. In the absence of the assigned shift commander, the incumbent fulfills those duties as well. The duties involved include, but are not limited to:

* Supervises Correctional Officer Lieutenants and through them,

correctional officers and Sergeants.

* Inspects buildings and grounds daily.

* Briefs subordinate personnel to provide guidance and direction.

* Investigates inmate complaints.

* Investigates reports of employee infractions.

* Prepares shift schedules and ensures appropriate staff coverage and

employee leave management.

* Coordinates inmate and inmate cell searches.

* Coordinates inmate transfers within the institution or to other facilities.

* Read and comply with assigned post orders and specific institutional

directives relevant to assignment.

GENERAL ADMINISTRATION AND RELATED DUTIES
