  • Some of my day to day duties include, travel to various locations foreign and domestic for routine maintenance, annual inspection, on-site repair and rebuild of the entire Falk Gear reduction line
  • My job is one of self-reliance in the field with only telecommunications and personal experience to use for assistance

  • I got out of the automotive business so that I could focus solely on mechanics and felt like machining would give me some added benefits
  • Knowing how a product starts out from a block of material and transforms to a precision piece of equipment is not a step that most technicians take
  • My daily job duties would include setting up of mills and tooling
  • Installing or writing programs for the manufacturing of customer parts and the fixtures used in the manufacturing process
  • Perform quality control and inspection of first article parts and maintain tolerances throughout part production
  • Was lead in the special projects division, working in conjunction with the research facility at Clemson University
  • (One project I especially enjoyed was a bladeless Helicopter model made from a Magnesium frame.)
  • Also assisting in projects with the U.S
  • Military and their Hum-V armor division and Blast Plates
  • That was a project I felt a personal connection to because I knew these parts were designed to save lives

  • Daily responsibilities would include but never limited to building and repairing Barge ships, center console boats and dredging platforms
  • Operation of backhoes, track-hoes and caterpillar dozers
  • Heavy equipment operation included crane lifts over-head hoist systems, Lulls, skid steers and lift baskets
  • This is where I began to develop my love for boats and life on the water
  • Learned the difference between automotive and marine mechanics
  • Was responsible for teardown and replacement of marine turbo diesel motors, turbos, fuel water separators and any replacement of transmissions, drive shafts, propellers and over-around maintenance of rescue and go-fast boats

  • The repair order is then dispatched to the appropriate technician for the job any additional repairs found would then have to be estimated and approved by the customer
  • A fully detailed description would be provided for the customer at time of pick-up or delivery, then the customer would be personally escorted to the cashier for payment of services rendered
  • The customer would then be taken to their car and made sure that they were completely satisfied and reminded of any future needs or surveys they may be receiving
