  • Hired on as Assessment Apprentice 4-6. waiting on my assessment date i spent the day learning the oncor way and performing the daily task i was limited to do. Climbing poles on new build construction to lay up and tie in primary wire and staple pole ground.
  • January 28 2025 I took the assessment and came back as an A6. Since becoming a A6 i been performing daily job task of working single-three phase poles. Installing equipment from single-three phase transformer banks, installing Capacitor banks to help improve power quality. Installing ans cutting in Air Break Switches on new or old construction. Running mechanical jumpers to by pass jumpers or cut outs on three phase poles. Performed work using load break to de energized equipment, used the load pick up tool to break and pick up load on energized apparatus. Helping and teaching the younger apprentices on the crew the importance of safety when it comes to cover and putting yourself in series. Teaching them the good habits while performing job duties.
  • Once the company gave me a company phone and Computer I started doing JSA and going over Job briefings with the crew before any job task. Started filling out Recloser Request and use Three-way communication with the Doc to get our Hot line tag while working behind a Nova, IntelliRupter or circuit breaker. Closing out completed jobs in Field HQ entering equipment numbers and structure ID's
  • When storms would roll in, I would log in with the Doc and trouble shoot where needed From Midland residential to Stanton Oil field. Trouble shoot Over head/Underground equipment , PPOD's, blown fuses, and repair services.
  • August 28th 2025 I was the first Person from east an west division to pass the new Journeyman Lineman Progression through the new OLAP program. Once i became a Journeyman I was giving more opportunities to push the crew when Crew Supervisor was out. From daily Jobs to after hour crew calls i was pushing the crew, doing JSA's, Reclosure Request if needed, charging time, and closing out jobs in Field HQ
  • October i was moved to operations service side. Job task of trouble shooting over head and under ground equipment residential or Oil Field. Performing meter sets on new house or business. Temporary disconnects/reconnects on customers for hazards or simple equipment upgrades. Daily trouble shooting on faulted equipment and making work orders for crew to repair or replace hazards that can affect valued customers. Going with DOT's to help with power quality, bringing capacitor banks on line, pushing profiles to Intelliruptors or programming trip savors. Helping DOT's test and locate faulted UG primary using the MEGGER, replacing blow switch gear fuses due to UG primary fault.

  • Worked on United, AEP, Oncor, PSO, Entergy, Centerpoint systems for mutual assistance during storm restoration. Climbing poles,grounding an splicing wire, changing transformers or cross arms off hooks, changing broke poles.

  • Worked on United Cooperative system doing mostly reconduct. Spreading wire to set new poles, pulling old poles, installing spreader arms and dolly's to new poles. Spreading three phase junction pole, running mechanicals to bypass jumpers. Run ropes and pull in new conductor wire mostly 477 primary and 4/0 neutral. Sagging and tying in new wire once been pulled in. Bumping over new conductor to make it energized and making up all top sides of cut outs, lightning arrestors and equipment on line.
  • Install poles and ladder racks for Regulators and Step downs for voltage conversions. Installed and hooked up regulators making all primary on ground connections up. Installed Step Down Auto XFMRs making all connections and testing it before energizing source load side to make sure the right voltage is present before feeding it down line.
  • Did some feeder maintenance around Erath County changing poles for road or fiber clearance. Changing out old wooden crossarms with fiber glass. changing out old XFMRs in residential or rural areas.
  • Worked on United, AEP, OGE, Duke, Florida Power & Light systems on storm restoration. Climbing poles to ground and pick up conductors, changing out cross arms an fixing faulty equipment off hooks. Replacing broke poles in confine spaces in back yards and alley ways.

  • Operated cranes and set steel structures and mono poles untill i decided i wanted to transfer to the Distribution side of GSW
  • Helping crews frame and set wooden poles. started off running the Boom tip operating and setting wooden poles between 7,200kv, 14,400kv, and 19,900kv energized apparatus for jobs.
  • Once i was comfortable Crew supervisor started letting me run a bucket working on secondary services, single phase 7200kv. Once my confidence grew i started working on single phase junctions, three phase in line 7200kv, 14.4kv
  • Got put on a crew Reconduct crew shortly after where my experience grew. Started working three phase junction poles, spreading wire, running mechanical jumpers, taking down and installing new equipment for the job.

  • Worked as a ground hand on Transmission crew. My Job duties consist of me helping crew set up equipment (Crane, Bucket trucks, pressure diggers, Boom Tips). Going over all safety check list procedure we had to make sure equipment was properly set up.
  • Helped on the ground framing/setting wooden poles, steel monopoles, and lattice towers. Once issued all fall arrest safety PPE i was able to start climbing lattice towers to help assemble them together section by section. Once i got grounding safety classes taken I was able to start grounding High voltage line 69kv, 138kv, 349kv with the supervision of a Journeyman Lineman.
  • Got my CDL and put into crane class in a in house program for Champman. Started driving and operating 40-90 ton Altec cranes. Doing all the safety check list and pre lift paperwork i was evaluated by Crew Supervisor for a couple of days and was approved to work alone. Started setting monopoles, steel lattice structures and carrying personal and tools in the Man Basket.
  • I was transferred to the Wireless Division on Primoris shortly after to help set platform structures on monopoles for AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile. Setting these structures between reclosed 138kv, 345kv energized apparatuses
