Projects and Research

  • AMR integration, customization, and design - Lead a team that designed, built, and productized 2 different Autonomous mobile robots to fill a missing gap in the markets demand. This Project was heavily interdisciplinary, as it involved as much work with LiDAR scanners, batteries, and programming as it did mechanical design. My team followed and stayed within strict budgetary goals and timelines, insuring the successful completion of these projects. Along with this, I have integrated and customized a number of preexisting AMRs to meet customer needs and goals.
  • Automated Pallet Dispenser - Independently designed, built, and oversaw the production of a 12ft tall, 3000lb, 3 axis electromechanical and pneumatic machine capable of storing and autonomously dispensing 20 48inx42in Pallets onto conveyor for palletizing. This project heavily involved pneumatics, stepper-servos, gearboxes, and FEA, insuring successful completion within budgetary and timeline goals.
  • 6-Axis Robot work stations and EOATs -Customized, designed, and assembled a number of 6-axis robot work cells as well as countless custom end of arm tools to assemble, build, and package a number of things including welding applications, batteries, medicine vials, contact lenses, windows, and more.
  • Inserter/Extractors and Linear Actuators - Designed and built a line of productized linear actuators, along with a number of custom inserting/ extracting and lifting/lowering systems to suit customers in-facility automation needs.
  • SacVac - Independently designed, fabricated, tested, patented, marketed, manufactured, and distributed a proprietary device aimed at alleviating a common everyday problem. This product achieved virality, amassing over 4 million views, half a million likes, and over 50,000 monthly website visits. Key takeaways include in-depth learning of circuitry, plastics, 3D printing, patenting, material and part procurement/sourcing, designing for mass production, working with a consumer-based product, marketing, and website design/construction.
  • Autonomous Firefighting Vehicle (Capstone Design Project) - Team lead of a ten-person interdisciplinary group, tasked with designing, coding, and fabricating a vehicle that utilized a FLIR thermal camera, LiDAR, and foam spray to locate and extinguish fires. Successfully met and exceeded set goals while adhering to budget constraints, safety regulations, and time deadlines. Key takeaways include in-depth learning of chassis design, drivetrains, electric motors, electronics, remote communications, and battery management, along with developing leadership, professionalism, and public speaking skills.
  • ParkingU - Co-founded a student startup dedicated to streamlining the on-campus parking experience through use of a subscription-based app. Leveraging security cameras and machine learning, the application provided real-time updates on available parking spaces, verified compatibility with user permits, and enhanced enforcement against illegal parking. Key takeaways include in-depth learning of teamwork, open communication, and machine learning.
