Tinkering and Fixing things
I enjoy taking things apart and figuring out what made them stop working A few examples are my wife's nintendo switch, old bikes, instruments and tools
Math and Physics
During my calculus and physics courses I realized how you can apply them to real life situations At Carpet USA, I used calculus to determine the length of a carpet roll so we didn't have to take it out and measure it At school, we had an engineering competition where we built a pasta tower with the goal of having the best mass vs supported weight ratio Using the failure of our prototype, I determined how the tower failed and used that in my calculations (static equilibrium) to predict how the final tower would perform Our tower held 2716 N and our prediction was 2750 N I enjoy seeing how the numbers on paper translate to a physical result
Technology
I enjoy figuring out how to use technology to make my life easier For example, using Google calendar for time management and organization, using CAD software to streamline the estimating process, or using excel functions to quickly determine bid conversion ratios One goal of mine is to create at least one product that can improve our lives
