I perform one or more of the following duties throughout appropriate production operations in the Combat/Travel Division, which involves the Overhaul and Repair, RESET and 10/20 work of Combat (Track), Light, Medium, and Heavy Tactical Vehicle equipment. Conducted preventive maintenance on tools or equipment utilized in the production operations on daily basis. Perform pre-shop analysis involving where total or partial disassembly may or may not be required depending on the scope of work (SOW. Perform pre-trip inspection prior to road test such as Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFVS). Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), M1117 Armored Security Vehicle (ASV) etc. on test track and/or road test as required in diagnosing malfunctions and placing in an operable condition for pre-inspection. Operate a variety of gauges and instruments such as inside and outside micrometers, bore scopes, dial bore gages, straight edges, dyes, dial indicators and a variety of pneumatic tools, hand tools, multi-meters etc. to perform my duties as assigned daily. The ability to troubleshoot, assembly, repair and test the major components and rebuild/repair, assembly, adjustment, troubleshooting, and applicable functional tests of major mechanical systems and components for heavy mobile vehicles. Systems and components that includes but not limited to diesel engines, suspension and brake systems, steer differentials, final drives, auxiliary generator sets, fuel injector/fuel pumps, hydraulic systems and transmissions, transfer cases etc. Diagnoses malfunctions of defective units and repairs/replaces items as required, assembles and performs limited functional tests such as testing for leaks, misalignments, maladjustments, etc. Determine causes of malfunctions of units rejected by Quality Control Inspector (QC) and perform repair or replacement as necessary ranging from minor adjustment to complete rebuild. Provide surveillance and guidance over lower grade workers when performing assembly of mechanical components and provide technical assistance as required. I can perform diagnosis of malfunctions/defects on items being repaired/rebuilt by lower grade workers. I can use a variety of hand tools and measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, etc. I utilize blueprints/ schematics, Technical Manuals (TMs), Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs) National Maintenance Work Requirements (NMWR) as required to complete vehicle troubleshooting, checkout, and adjustment and work at in-process, test track, or shipping operations and perform duties involved in the troubleshooting, checkout, adjustment and tune-up of assembled heavy mobile equipment, and perform necessary operational checks to detect malfunctions in various systems and visually inspect vehicles) check over vehicle to identify missing parts and/ or subassemblies that may have deficiencies prior to release for QC and document deficiencies on DA form 2404 for record of repair. I also work in LMP, ZCOOIS, COOIS, and CAMS to make sure work is being done properly and that the employees are maintaining their time and on schedule with the work being performed. I have had numerous amounts of training in CAMS and LMP to make sure I can pass on the knowledge to the employees.
