My approach to gaining knowledge is pragmatic. I see myself as a facilitator, a resource, and a motivator. I teach through the process of inquiry, and my goal is not only for students to understand what they are learning, but to also understand how that applies to other aspects of their lives. Helping them to build confidence, skills, as well as knowledge, is a gift that I can try to give every student.
My personal feeling is that education/teaching has given me an incredible opportunity to grow and develop. It has allowed me to learn new things, to stay current and excel, and to influence young adults to pursue their passions and careers, just as I did.
After I retired in 2018, I was contacted to teach A&P for CNA students at Pathway's Innovation Center. It was a one semester course.
I taught IB Biology Level 1 and 2 as well as the Senior level Theory of Knowledge. My teaching duties also included Honor's Anatomy & Physiology, which was not part of the IB curriculum.
I taught sophomore Biology at 3 levels, General, Regular and Advanced.
I was responsible for teaching Adaptive Physical Education and Dance.
