Saxophone

I used to be a band member before coming to college. My instrument of choice was the saxophone. I don't play quite as much as I used to, but am beyond grateful for making the choice to learn to play many years ago.

Japanese

In the summer of 2020, I decided I wanted to learn a foreign language. I decided on Japanese and spent about two years religiously studying in my own time, with the intention of spending a portion of time in Japan after graduation. My priorities eventually changed, but my choice to learn this language made me a better person in many ways. On top of the large amount of vocab and grammar I studied over this period of time, it also vastly improved my studying skills, and taught me to be more open minded and accepting of people with different beliefs than me. I would not be the person I am today if I had not made this choice. I still hope to spend time in Japan someday.
