I grew up on a ranch in Oregon that involved a lifestyle that did not have any weekends because there was always work to do and had very hard working parents. The work that I helped with involved driving tractors in the summer cutting and loading hay, laying concrete, doctoring cows that were sick, feeding livestock, and helped in building shops, garages, barns, gardening sheds, etc. When I was not helping my family or working, I raised my own steer in FFA and was a three sport athlete where I competed in Football, Track and Field, and Basketball. In these, I accomplished the following awards:
-2A Oregon State Player of the Year in Football
-2A State Champion Football
-Competed in the Track and Field State Championship all 4 years of high school
-Offensive Player of the State
-Co-defensive player of the state
-All league defensive and offensive player of the year
-Plus more
My job was to operate a forklift and load lumber, doors, plywood, etc. onto trucks and deliver to different job sites for houses or businesses being built. Would also unload truck deliveries that would come in and help others load their trucks with products that they would by from the lumber yard.
