• Performed advanced shipfitting on one of the U.S. Navy’s most sophisticated Ford-class aircraft carriers, CVN-80 USS Enterprise, supporting structural fabrication and assembly of hull and interior sections.
• Read and interpreted blueprints, isometric drawings, and ship checks to accurately lay out, mark, and install bulkheads, decks, frames, and foundations to tight naval standards.
• Utilized cutting, grinding, drilling, and tack-welding processes to fit and align components, preparing structures for certified welders and final inspections.
• Applied rigging techniques (chain falls, come-alongs, wedges, strongbacks) and coordinated with crane operations to safely move and install heavy ship modules.
• Maintained compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1915 shipyard safety regulations, consistently following confined space entry, hot-work permitting, and PPE protocols.
• Collaborated across multiple trades (welding, electrical, pipefitting, coatings) to ensure sequencing, housekeeping, and QA/QC milestones were met.
• Contributed to the Navy’s long-term fleet readiness by building critical structures for the first dual-carrier construction program (CVN-80 & CVN-81).
