Following a pre-med track has helped build a background in material related to chemistry, biology, and organic chemistry, bringing background knowledge that will help with a general understanding of lab practices and communication with colleagues. A history of personal training and being a sales associate has improved collaborative skills with colleagues and customers from diverse backgrounds. Working at the hospital has provided clinical in-patient experience, opportunities to learn from renowned nurses and physicians, and a unique perspective on cancer that can be beneficial to the lab.
I played many team sports growing up and have always been a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chiefs. I exercise 6 days a week, enjoy golfing with my friends during the summer, and getting together with my family during holidays and other events. I have always had a passion for general science topics, but I have narrowed my goals to applying to the Carver College of Medicine and becoming a physician.
