Dedicated Fleet /Assistant Terminal Manager

Riverside Transportation (RTI)
Kansas City, KS
06.2021 - 11.2022

• In my time at RTI, I managed a dedicated fleet to service our highest priority customers, ensuring non fail service. I also ran the terminal, overseeing the maintenance, safety and operations departments.

• As a dedicated fleet manager I collaborated with a driver manager, as well as 30 of our best drivers, to ensure non fail service to our biggest volume and highest paying customer, KBX Logistics. I communicated directly to the customers on the status of their deliveries. I owned the relationship with the customer and was their voice internally speaking on their behalf and ensuring excellent service.

• As assistant terminal manager, I was over the operations side of the KBX dedicated fleet. I supported the safety department in training and implementing policy changes, holding our drivers accountable for DOT compliance, as well as employee training and development. Our terminal also was fitted with a full service round the clock shop to keep our equipment on the roads. I kept this staffed and complaint during my time with the company, and built a culture of accountability and safety, never losing an employee to work related injury.

Operations supervisor

Fedex Freight

• As an operations supervisor (dock), I managed a team of 40+ dock workers to sort and load outbound freight volumes. I routed the freight through the network as efficiently as possible, as well as balancing labor hours to be as productive and cost effective as possible. This also comes with back office employee management such as payroll, benefits management and time off scheduling, as well as hiring and disciplinary duties.

• As an operations supervisor (line-haul), I

managed the fleet of 85 OTR drivers, as well as any seasonal 3rd party logistics contracts. In this role I was responsible for load coverage, network planning, as well as equipment management of 100+ trucks and 150-250 trailers at any given time.

• In my time as operations supervisor over different departments, I also served as head of the OKC/LR Region safety committee. In this role, I worked with a monthly pool of employees to stimulate communication and innovation in FEDEX’s safety policies. When I left the company, we had a 185 day streak of 0 preventable work related accidents or injuries. Our company initiative for the committee was to obtain a single 75 day period.

• Through my time with the company, I also received non standard company training in QDM. This Quality driven management program was developed on SixSigma and LeanSix business methodologies, and used to equip select leadership with the skills to eliminate the waste of physical resources, time, effort and talent while assuring quality in production and organizational processes.
